Responsibilities
- Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
- Integrate concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis for various projects.
- Interpret and apply design and drafting standards when creating drawings.
- Address technical design challenges related to assembly fixtures and custom machines.
- Collaborate with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineers.
- Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, and commissioning of tooling.
- Set and maintain schedules and budgets for project completion.
Job Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years’ experience with design and commissioning of tooling and fixtures.
- Experience with FEM and complex structural analysis.
- Proven experience with CAD based design software for modeling and drafting.
- Basic understanding of common manufacturing materials and GD&T.
- Strong expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Familiarity with industry standards and experience with custom machine design.
