Responsibilities
- Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
- Integrate concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis across multiple projects.
- Interpret and apply design and drafting standards when creating drawings.
- Address technical design challenges related to assembly fixtures and custom machines.
- Collaborate with component designers and manufacturing engineers for optimal project outcomes.
- Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, and commissioning of custom tooling.
- Set and maintain schedules and budgets for project completion.
Job Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience with design and commissioning of tooling and fixtures.
- Experience with FEM and structural analysis, including hand calculations.
- Proficiency in CAD-based design software for modeling and drafting.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing materials and tolerance/stack-up analysis.
- Strong expertise in design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Familiarity with industry standards and custom machine design.
