Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual development of novel tooling and fixtures for launch vehicle structures.
- Translate vehicle design and production needs into tooling requirements.
- Develop Concepts of Operations (ConOps) for new tooling to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Generate and evaluate tooling concepts to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Author Tooling Requirements Documents (TRDs) capturing design criteria and safety interlocks.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure tooling considerations are integrated into vehicle design.
- Introduce innovative manufacturing techniques into tooling concepts for improved quality.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or tooling design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo/CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
- Experience with cross-functional engineering teams to define system requirements.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and system-level requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Desired: Master’s degree and hands-on experience with automation or robotics in tooling concepts.
