Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize production processes for launch vehicle components, subsystems, and ground support infrastructure.
- Design and implement workflow models, facility layouts, and resource plans to support scalable launch operations.
- Conduct process simulations, time studies, and capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Support tooling and fixture development to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles are incorporated early.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, schedule risk, and non-conformances in both hardware and operations.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership regarding investment in automation, workforce allocation, and infrastructure upgrades.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in tooling fabrication, precision machining, or manufacturing engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes, such as fastening, machining, welding, automated assembly, and material properties.
- Proficiency in CAD software and digital manufacturing software.
- Experience with GD&T and dimensional inspection methods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Experience supporting programs/projects through the product development lifecycle.
