The Power Electronics Engineer will work on developing electromagnetic space launch systems, focusing on hardware projects from conceptual design to qualification, particularly in power electronics.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, design, and testing of high-voltage power electronics systems.
- Develop hardware requirements and build prototypes.
- Select components, design schematics, and perform PCB layouts.
- Validate designs and collaborate with various engineering teams.
- Contribute to the architecture and modeling of power electronics topologies.
- Ensure safety in high voltage environments.
- Utilize basic EE tools for testing and automation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power electronics engineering.
- Proficiency in magnetics and capacitors for high-power applications.
- Familiarity with schematic capture, circuit simulation tools, and PCB layout techniques.
- Knowledge of control theory and embedded programming experience.
- Comfortable working in a high voltage environment.
- Experience with high-voltage pulse power applications is a plus.
