Mechanical Engineer, Automation

The Mechanical Engineer on the Automation team at Atomic Semi will generate and prototype robotics components and systems for semiconductor packaging devices, focusing on rapid iteration and end-to-end process ownership.

• Design and iterate on machines and subsystems for automating fabrication
• Create mechanical designs including structures, actuation components, and complete system assemblies
• Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, actuators in system assembly
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve autonomous systems
• Source components and materials while working with vendors
• Validate and generate firmware, and design control systems
• Prototype robotics components and systems from scratch

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or Physics
• 3+ years of industry experience in mechanical and electromechanical system design
• Experience with automation and system design, electrical work, and programming
• Experience with microcontrollers and/or industrial PLCs
• Master’s degree and 5+ years of relevant engineering experience (nice-to-have)
• Experience with custom solutions for computer vision and embedded systems (nice-to-have)
• Passion for hands-on engineering with home workshop/lab experience (nice-to-have)
