Responsibilities

  • Own the Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) of Astrolab Rovers, including architecture, requirements, design, analysis, testing, delivery, and operation.
  • Manage the vehicle Power Budget, including system loads and sizing of solar arrays and battery packs.
  • Lead the development of power system components by collaborating with other Electrical Engineers.
  • Conduct design analysis for power, size, mass, and reliability.
  • Support the electro-mechanical strategy for power transmission and components.
  • Assist in qualification and integration testing of EPS components.
  • Support vehicle commissioning and mission operations related to the EPS.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft power systems engineering, with proven flight experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in power electronics design, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Expertise in solar array design and manufacturing, and solar power conversion techniques.
  • Knowledge of battery management and manufacturing of battery packs.
  • Proficiency in power electronics, including distribution techniques and voltage regulators.
  • Skilled at circuit analyses using SPICE and Excel.
