Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Apollo humanoid robot, addressing design and manufacturing bottlenecks.
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and performance issues to implement robust solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate improvements seamlessly.
- Optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design, prototype, and test new components and sub-systems to enhance overall robot performance.
- Develop and implement best practices for mechanical assembly, testing, and quality control.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role with a focus on design for manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in CAD software and FEA simulation.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing, including lab equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
