Responsibilities
- Own complex mechanical subsystems for drone products from concept to full rate production
- Gather requirements and conduct trade studies to determine optimal solutions
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to develop and optimize designs
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-disciplinary partners
- Build prototypes and execute hardware test plans, summarizing results and lessons learned
- Conduct root cause investigations for hardware failures in development and production
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of mechanical/design experience in a professional setting
- Proven ownership of a product from concept through production
- CAD skills and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings
- Proficient in hands-on prototyping techniques
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in various domains
- Demonstrated project/technical leadership skills
- BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience
