Responsibilities
- Own complex mechanical subsystems for drone products from concept to full rate production.
- Gather requirements and conduct trade studies to determine optimal solutions.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to develop, assess, and optimize designs.
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-disciplinary partners.
- Build prototypes and execute hardware test plans, iterating on designs.
- Conduct root cause investigations for hardware failures in development and production.
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers and travel to test sites as needed.
Job Requirements
- Experience in immersive technical projects (collegiate or professional).
- Demonstrated project/technical leadership skills.
- 2+ years of mechanical/design experience.
- CAD skills and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms.
- Proficient in hands-on prototyping (machining, shop tools, welding, soldering).
- BS or MS in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
