Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues, supporting automation engineers in root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with various teams to optimize material handling equipment (MHE) systems and implement projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
- Provide escalation support to automation engineers for timely repairs of hardware or controls software.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and climbing as required by the role.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams on projects and system design improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in PLC programming or automation engineering.
- Experience in process or production environments related to PLC-controlled automation.
- Proficiency in robotics work cells and control systems.
- Familiarity with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys Ladder Logic programming.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and automated equipment.
- Preferred Master's degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
