Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite primary structure.
- Generate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with GD&T.
- Conduct or oversee static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis via finite element methods.
- Deliver an efficient structural design capable of high volume production throughput.
- Document and present materials for technical design reviews.
- Design and support test campaigns for space hardware.
- Ensure all requirements from cross-discipline teams are met.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience designing structural systems for aerospace.
- 2+ years of experience with structural materials and processes.
- 2+ years of experience in structural sizing and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in structural or mechanical engineering preferred.
- CAD expertise (Siemens NX or equivalent) and GD&T knowledge.
- Experience with spacecraft subsystems and supporting test campaigns.
