Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite primary structures.
- Generate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with GD&T.
- Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis using finite element methods.
- Deliver efficient structural designs for high volume production.
- Document and present materials for technical design reviews.
- Design and support test campaigns for space hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to meet system architecture requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in designing structural systems for aerospace.
- 2+ years of experience with structural materials and processes.
- 2+ years of experience in structural sizing and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Advanced degree in structural or mechanical engineering preferred.
- CAD expertise (Siemens NX or equivalent) and experience with FEA tools.
- Experience with spacecraft subsystems and test campaigns for space/flight hardware.
