Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze requirements, and develop trade studies on mechanism design options.
- Create and iterate detailed CAD models of design options, including geometry and materials.
- Analyze load conditions (static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue) for compliance.
- Develop test plans for long-term reliability assessments.
- Define qualification plans and acceptance testing methods for volume production.
- Facilitate cost trades for manufacturability versus design uncertainty.
- Produce complete design packages, including drawings, analysis reports, and documentation.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience developing space-rated Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent, and experience with CAD tools like NX.
- Experience with both active and passive Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
