Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze requirements, and develop trade studies on mechanism design options.
- Create and iterate detailed CAD models including mechanism geometry and materials.
- Analyze load conditions for compliance using classical methods and FEA.
- Develop test plans and conduct reliability assessments as needed.
- Define qualification plans and acceptance testing methods for production.
- Facilitate cost trades for manufacturability versus design uncertainty.
- Produce complete design packages including drawings and analysis reports.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- 2+ years developing space-rated Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys FEA tools.
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent, and NX (CAD) tools.
- Experience with active and passive Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
