Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes through collaboration with a team of manufacturing engineers.
- Serve as the primary technical interface to the development team in design reviews and new product development activities.
- Support the operations team by solving technical problems during production.
- Own the roadmap for increasing production capacity and lead the design and qualification of new equipment.
- Work on the shop floor to implement new processes and solve production blockers.
- Conduct independent development work to identify and implement production improvements.
- Mentor and collaborate with other engineers to develop their skillsets.
Job Requirements
- Experience in developing functional specifications and test procedures.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with opto-mechanical systems and mechatronic systems.
- Familiarity with low-rate manufacturing environments and new product introduction.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices.
- Experience with root cause analysis techniques.
- Preferred experience with project management and interdisciplinary teams.
