Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test hardware and mechanical components for grocery automation systems.
- Research and recommend commercially available solutions and develop bespoke peripheral tools as needed.
- Deliver CAD models, detailed drawings, test plans, trade studies, and technical documentation.
- Solve complex hardware engineering problems across various automation systems.
- Validate vendor performance claims through independent analysis and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Optimize validation and test processes and begin mentoring peers.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools (preferred).
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume (preferred).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on difficult hardware engineering problems.
- Understanding of vendor analysis and integration challenges in automation systems.
