Head of Manufacturing Engineering

The Head of Manufacturing Engineering at Zipline will lead the scaling of in-house manufacturing capabilities, developing new processes to support design changes and internal builds, while collaborating with various engineering and operations teams.

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers.
• Own the end-to-end development of manufacturing capabilities including planning, budgeting, and designing assembly lines.
• Define and implement manufacturing process documentation such as process flows and standard work instructions.
• Partner with design engineering teams to drive design-for-manufacturability improvements.
• Provide technical support to production operations and assist with root cause analysis.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing lines.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in designing and developing manufacturing lines.
• Over 3 years of manufacturing engineering leadership experience on complex electro-mechanical products.
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with fixture and equipment design for high-volume production.
• Demonstrated CAD fluency and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with factory layout design and process mapping.
• Excellent communication skills tailored to various audiences.
