Responsibilities
- Help author and revise material and process specifications for Gen 6 aircraft production.
- Write test reports summarizing data and findings from M&P test programs.
- Perform mechanical strength testing on test coupons using Instron machines.
- Conduct thermal analysis testing to determine glass transition temperature and degree of cure.
- Perform cross-sectional image analysis to assess void content in composite parts.
- Execute layup and curing of composite prepreg laminates.
- Assist in bonding for bonded joint test coupons and analyze non-conformances in a production environment.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in a related engineering discipline.
- Preferred studies include Materials Science, Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Internship experience is desirable but not required.
- Experience in a laboratory or research setting is preferred, along with strong technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with composites and adhesives is preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks is necessary.
