Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of mechanical fusion components and subsystems.
- Produce engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and parameters for manufacturing.
- Design tooling for assembly.
- Perform thermal, structural, and electromagnetic analysis using Ansys and COMSOL.
- Incorporate design for manufacturing principles and support initial builds.
- Design and execute qualification testing.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or related fields.
- Experience in designing, building, and commissioning custom systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Solidworks, CATIA, NX).
- Knowledge of machining, welding, and fabrication requirements.
- Ability to solve complex problems and guide design processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines.
