Internship, Aerodynamics, Thermal Engineering (Summer 2026)

This internship position is focused on Aerodynamics and Thermal Engineering at Tesla, starting in May 2026 and lasting through the summer term. It is designed for students currently enrolled in an academic program, providing hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

• Design and build experiments with HVAC and refrigeration components.
• Conduct 1D modeling and CFD simulation of thermal components.
• Develop and validate thermal and fluid models for hardware optimization.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers.
• Work on innovative fluid distribution systems for various applications.
• Engage in the system level thermal architecture development.
• Participate in projects critical to the team's success.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electrical fundamentals.
• Experience with refrigeration components and systems.
• Proficiency in numerical simulation tools like STAR-CCM+ and Ansys Fluent.
• Ability to conduct hands-on experiments and testing.
• Knowledge of electronics cooling.
• Strong collaboration skills to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
