Responsibilities
- Conduct CAD work under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
- Design custom brackets focusing on DFM and DFA principles.
- Integrate 3rd party electromechanical devices into robotic systems.
- Fit electrical components within protective enclosures of the robot chassis.
- Create modular mounting systems and access panels for ease of maintenance.
- Perform wiring of components and design cable runs and connectors.
- Generate accurate engineering drawings and maintain documentation of design processes.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion360, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or PTC Creo).
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.).
- Ability to conceptualize and discuss 3D parts for design and prototyping.
- Strong desire to learn and improve engineering skills.
- Ability to work independently on high-level tasks.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing and assembly principles.
- Experience in prototyping and tolerance analysis is a plus.
