Responsibilities

  • Develop and exercise design, analysis, and hands-on skills for prototyping and stellarator design activities.
  • Support process development, fabrication, and assembly for HTS magnet prototyping programs.
  • Assist in the design, build, testing, and performance analysis of custom HTS magnets.
  • Develop and execute test equipment and operations for magnet-related hardware.
  • Assist in designing and developing subsystems for stellarator fusion devices.
  • Model magnetically confined high-temperature fusion plasmas using computational tools.
  • Optimize stellarator magnetic geometry for next-generation fusion devices.

Job Requirements

  • Enrolled in a STEM undergraduate or graduate program (mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, etc.).
  • Interest in clean and sustainable energy to combat climate change.
  • Hands-on or computational experience through academic research or projects.
  • Highly self-motivated and independent problem solver.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • No specific skillset requirement; open to applicants with diverse backgrounds.
