Responsibilities
- Manage the supply base for aerospace components, focusing on machined components and mechanical assemblies.
- Monitor part costs and mitigate increases through supplier relationships and technical knowledge.
- Ensure manufacturing capacity and quality yield align with production demands.
- Guide internal staff on design for manufacturability and cost reduction strategies.
- Conduct supplier analysis for sourcing decisions and manage contracts.
- Assess supplier facilities for capability and capacity for new product development.
- Develop cost models and drive continuous improvement in vendor processes.
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree and 4+ years or bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in relevant fields.
- Experience in machining supply chain optimization and contract negotiation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and quality documents.
- Proven success in managing large contracts and dynamic supply chains.
- Strong communication skills for summarizing risks and strategies to senior leadership.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required.
