Responsibilities
- Act as the technical point of contact for assigned parts, solving emergent challenges at suppliers.
- Review issues on assigned parts and implement changes at suppliers or SpaceX as needed.
- Create and disposition issue tickets, working with engineering counterparts on required actions.
- Become familiar with assigned parts and processes, serving as the primary contact for supply chain defects.
- Work with procurement to find and vet exceptional suppliers for quality and capability.
- Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability of parts.
- Drive the production part approval process (PPAP) program to ensure stable supply and improve delivery time.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products.
- Experience with machining operations such as milling and turning.
- Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and models, including GD&T.
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and statistical techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel, SQL, and PowerBI.
- Must be able to travel up to 60-85% of the work week.
