Responsibilities
- Develop the department vision and strategy connecting technical work to stakeholders.
- Cultivate relationships with customers to understand challenges and develop R&D objectives.
- Manage and develop staff, identifying focus areas for photonic technologies.
- Provide organizational leadership and communicate direction across the department.
- Oversee research aligned with national security space programs and missions.
- Work with customers to establish product and delivery goals.
- Recruit and develop talent in laser applications and photonic technology.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in photonics and related technical areas.
- Experience managing scientists and engineers.
- Strong understanding of dynamic research environments.
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary team development and consensus building on complex problems.
- Experience managing budgets and administrative processes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
