Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and contribute to technical projects using NDE evaluating methods such as ultrasonic testing and X-ray measurements.
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis.
  • Communicate with personnel within PSL and between organizations in the Engineering Technology Group.
  • Prepare written and oral reports of research activities and present findings to management and the scientific community.
  • Participate in training and mentorship programs.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Adapt to changing organizational needs and coordinate efforts with internal and external organizations.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in materials science, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Relevant coursework in materials science, mechanical engineering, and nondestructive evaluation.
  • Skills in materials science, nondestructive evaluation, and material characterization.
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
