Responsibilities
- Conduct research and contribute to technical projects using NDE evaluating methods such as ultrasonic testing and X-ray measurements.
- Perform data acquisition and analysis.
- Communicate with personnel within PSL and between organizations in the Engineering Technology Group.
- Prepare written and oral reports of research activities and present findings to management and the scientific community.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Adapt to changing organizational needs and coordinate efforts with internal and external organizations.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in materials science, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Relevant coursework in materials science, mechanical engineering, and nondestructive evaluation.
- Skills in materials science, nondestructive evaluation, and material characterization.
- U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
