Responsibilities
- Investigate structure-property relationships of high-performance composite materials.
- Evaluate cure properties of CFRP composite materials and develop characterization techniques.
- Conduct mechanical testing of structural materials.
- Perform thermal analysis and characterization of polymers and composites.
- Participate in ongoing research with an interdisciplinary team.
- Document technical efforts and prepare reports of research activities.
- Communicate with personnel within PSL and other organizations.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Coursework in relevant fields such as Materials Science and Engineering or Chemistry.
- Familiarity with basic polymer processing and common metrology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Transcripts are required.
