Staff Electrical Engineer, Power Electronics, Optimus

The Staff Electrical Engineer will develop the electrical systems for Tesla's Optimus humanoid robots, focusing on high-performance electromechanical actuation systems. The role involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines to design and validate electrical hardware.

• Own the complete hardware development process from architecture to validation.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and program management teams on electrical hardware design.
• Debug hardware interactions in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Document design requirements, calculations, and validation results.
• Rapidly iterate design requirements and product features.
• Lead design execution, simulation, schematic, and board layout.
• Support industrialization and production activities.

• Expert-level understanding of power conversion/electronic circuit design.
• Strong experience in PCB layout and lab equipment.
• Modeling and simulation experience (e.g., LTSpice, ANSYS-Maxwell).
• Experience shipping high-volume PCBAs.
• Ability to tackle open-ended challenges using first-principles.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent.
