Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of thermal system designs for Tesla Energy products.
- Mechanical design ownership of compression cycles, coolant systems, and air flow systems.
- Build-to-print mechanical design for components like pumps, fans, and heat exchangers.
- Develop and execute design validation plans in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements and specifications.
- Utilize CAD modeling for design concepts and validation.
- Apply engineering fundamentals in heat transfer, mechanics, and fluids.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3-6 years of product design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, preferably CATIA V5/6.
- Experience in designing for high volume assembly.
- Strong understanding of material science and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in GD&T and development of manufacturing instructions.
- Familiarity with design for reliability/FMEA concepts.
