Responsibilities
- Lead reliability testing for lithium-ion cells, integrating mechanical and electrochemical tests.
- Develop and execute cycle life test plans to assess battery performance and monitor capacity fade.
- Set up testing fixtures and manage the execution of tests.
- Write test plans and design experiments while ensuring data integrity.
- Mentor team members in cell characterization and reliability engineering.
- Communicate lab testing status and project deadlines effectively.
- Collaborate with product development teams to refine cell designs for Tesla products.
Job Requirements
- Degree or relevant experience in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on skills and self-motivated with the ability to execute independently.
- Knowledge of electrochemical test equipment for battery testing.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Understanding of lithium-ion cell safety and associated risks.
- Some coding experience (e.g., MATLAB, Python) for data analysis.
- Ability to develop new test concepts and methods.
