Responsibilities
- Identify and assess critical failures in lithium-ion cells and forecast lifetime using predictive models.
- Design and execute reliability tests to validate lifetime predictions and improve testing protocols.
- Collaborate with cell design and quality teams using DFMEA, NUDD, and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Mentor team members in cell characterizations and reliability engineering principles.
- Develop technical reports and presentations to communicate failure modes and insights to stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional product development teams to optimize cell design.
- Proactively manage lab testing progress to ensure project milestones are met.
Job Requirements
- Degree or relevant experience in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven reliability engineering experience in batteries, microelectronics, or consumer tech products.
- Strong coding skills in Python/MATLAB for data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in analyzing failure data using Weibull and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Experience with DFR/DFX principles and collaborating on product design.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
