Responsibilities
- Design joints and perform torque/load calculations
- Create, validate, and analyze joints for Tesla products
- Lead production in quality and process-related torque/clamp load issues
- Implement correct torque values for in-house and Tier assembled joints
- Prioritize and execute joint tests in the Joining/Fastener Laboratory
- Manage joint verification process and improve Joint Calculator
- Ensure implementation of correct torque values for assembled joints
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of torque, clamp load, and friction interactions
- Experience in fastener engineering or related fields
- Ability to develop torque values based on design requirements
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design (Catia V5 preferred)
- Familiarity with fastener/joint tests and GD&T
- Experience in quality control processes
