Responsibilities
- Design and prototype exterior components for vehicle programs.
- Collaborate with the design/styling studio to balance form, function, and cost.
- Conduct detail design including surface development and GD&T.
- Utilize DFSS methodologies during design and validation processes.
- Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into designs.
- Manage suppliers for product development and tooling design approvals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility and serviceability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Catia V5/V6 or other CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of large plastic part design and injection molding.
- Experience following the design process from concept to production launch.
- Familiarity with DFSS methodologies in automotive programs.
- Understanding of design differences between low and high-volume production.
