Responsibilities
- Support closure system static and dynamic sealing and DLO trim development for Tesla vehicles.
- Specify elastomeric seal designs and create specification drawings.
- Initiate seal CAE studies and iterate designs based on results.
- Select materials for elastomeric seals and DLO trims.
- Understand and apply manufacturing processes for seals and trims.
- Establish system level architecture and functionality based on market research and prototyping.
- Collaborate with suppliers to support vehicle development milestones.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in automotive closures design and engineering.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret FEA results.
- Proficiency in CAD software V5/3DX for designing seals.
- Proven track record of ownership of seal and trim designs.
- Experience in collaborating with supply chain partners.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive project management abilities.
