Responsibilities
- Improve designs for existing vehicles and define structural designs for future Tesla models.
- Seamlessly integrate vehicle and battery cell systems to optimize performance.
- Partner with manufacturing engineering teams to develop new processes and materials.
- Serve as the local design authority for line launches, design changes, trials, and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct on-site component and system-level testing to support design and specification updates.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to address yield barriers and scrap issues.
- Own product improvements focused on cost reduction and complexity simplification.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in materials and mechanics.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong experience in CAD modeling; CATIA V5/3DX experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in a relevant engineering field, ideally in high-volume manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D design and GD&T drawings for complex parts and assemblies.
