Mechanical Design Engineer, Battery Pack, Battery Engineering

The Mechanical Design Engineer role focuses on designing and shipping battery products for Tesla, requiring strong engineering fundamentals and collaboration with various teams.

• Full product design responsibility from concept to production launch
• Advance product performance while reducing cost and mass
• Develop new technologies and support early process development
• Hands-on prototyping and specification definition
• Release 2D part and assembly drawings
• Conduct basic testing and analysis, supporting advanced testing
• Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and supply chain teams

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, fluids, mechanics, and electronics
• Ability to create products from CAD design to prototyping
• Experience with various manufacturing processes
• Knowledge in designing for high volume assembly
• Proficiency in CAD modeling; CATIA experience a plus
• Detail-oriented with solid documentation and reporting skills
