Responsibilities
- Full product design responsibility from concept through production launch and ramp.
- Advance product performance while reducing cost and mass.
- Develop new technologies and support early process development.
- Create prototypes and define specifications (dimensional, functional, performance, manufacturing).
- Release 2D part and assembly drawings meticulously.
- Conduct basic testing and analysis, and support advanced testing and analysis.
- Collaborate with other teams within Tesla and maintain close supplier relationships.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, fluids, mechanics, and electronics.
- Demonstrated ability in CAD design and hands-on prototyping.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding and metal stamping.
- Ability to design for high volume assembly, both manual and automated.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling; CATIA V5/V6 experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
