Responsibilities
- Model and design mechanical components and assemblies including plastics and sheet metal.
- Select and apply appropriate off-the-shelf components such as motors and sensors.
- Conduct mechanical design analysis including thermal and structural evaluations.
- Solve electronics packaging issues related to thermal management and cable routing.
- Develop engineering test plans for designs.
- Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts.
- Collaborate with other engineers to transition designs from prototype to mass production.
Job Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and PDM software.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and GD&T.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Solid foundation in engineering fundamentals and high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with student engineering teams (e.g., BAJA or Formula SAE) is a plus.
