Internship, Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering (Summer 2026)

This internship position is focused on vehicle manufacturing engineering at Tesla, where interns will develop and engineer new processes and high-volume automation equipment.

• Work closely with internal Product Design, Operations, Facilities, Production, and Quality Engineering teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional design activities with tool vendors.
• Assume ownership of the design and technical transfer of tools to Tesla Operations.
• Ensure tools meet safety, quality, and output standards.
• Participate in various teams within the Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering organization.
• Engage in hands-on experiences in a high-volume factory environment.
• Utilize CAD software for designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience is required.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA or SOLIDWORKS.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of statistical tools and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Geometric Design & Tolerance (GD&T).
