Internship, Human Factors & Ergonomics, Design Studio (Summer 2026)

This internship role at Tesla involves working with the Vehicle Human Factors and Ergonomics team to enhance occupant packaging and ergonomics in vehicle design. The intern will engage in research and development to create comfortable and usable spaces for drivers and passengers.

• Perform research to create comfortable and usable vehicle spaces.
• Develop, validate, and maintain vehicle occupant packages and ergonomic criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and program management teams for ergonomic solutions.
• Conduct digital and physical assessments against styling and engineering proposals.
• Develop and run focus studies for ergonomic compliance.
• Assist in the design and implementation of ergonomic processes.
• Engage in projects critical to the team's success.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ergonomic Engineering, or related field.
• Preferred experience in occupant packaging, human factors, ergonomics, or product usability.
• Knowledge of CAD software, preferably CATIA V6 and V5.
• Understanding of rapid fabrication methods like 3D printing.
• Familiarity with automotive engineering guidelines and regulations is a plus.
• Experience in an automotive design studio is advantageous.
• Knowledge of ergonomic assessment tools like CAVA and RAMSIS is preferred.
