Responsibilities

  • Document observations and present findings to a technical audience.
  • Support the Boulder R&D team in the fabrication of small-scale electrode coatings.
  • Implement existing techniques and develop new techniques for battery materials analysis.
  • Analyze existing data to characterize battery materials and determine degradation mechanisms.
  • Support the development of cell test plans to characterize performance and reliability.
  • Track test progress and analyze/report testing results.
  • Collaborate with teams to optimize cell performance and identify critical failures.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with electrochemical and mechanical evaluation techniques for battery electrode analysis.
  • Familiarity with degradation mechanisms of batteries and battery materials.
  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology and electrochemistry.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power delivery, energy storage, and thermo-fluids engineering.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
