Design Engineer, Seat Belt Systems

The role involves designing, testing, and delivering high-performance seat belt systems for Tesla vehicles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Design and release seat belt systems in vehicles.
• Collaborate with design studio, body, interior, and seat engineering teams.
• Manage Tier 1 suppliers for engineering development.
• Support testing and production validation of seat belt systems.
• Provide expertise on seat belt design for system integration.
• Support crash tests and ensure compliance with safety ratings.
• Address supplier and field quality issues for product maintenance.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Relevant mechanical design engineering project experience.
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on engineering skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and tolerancing.
• Intermediate to advanced CAD skills, preferably in CATIA.
• Ability to manage technical challenges under tight timelines.
