Responsibilities
- Ramp manufacturing lines including mechanical automation equipment and robots.
- Program state machines for complex processes involving conveyor processing and data acquisition.
- Manage safety standards and implement reliable safety systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Define and manage PLC code structure and backups.
- Design fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery.
- Train technicians on maintenance and repair of controls systems.
- Interface with the Tesla Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for machine status and process variables.
Job Requirements
- Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a mechanical/manufacturing controls Engineer.
- Advanced proficiency in programming industrial equipment in IEC 61131-3 languages.
- Experience with safety PLCs and industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in selecting and integrating circuit protectors and sensors.
- Preferred experience with programming robots and vision systems.
- Knowledge of field bus networks and HMI/GUI systems.
