Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test methods to characterize mechanical and imaging properties of soft biomaterials.
  • Perform sample preparation, reconstitution, handling, and controlled testing of NASHA-based gels.
  • Analyze imaging and other datasets to quantify geometry, positioning, and stability of materials.
  • Support identification and implementation of tools and software workflows.
  • Design and build experimental setups, test fixtures, or tissue-mimicking models as needed.
  • Document experimental protocols, results, and conclusions for internal design decisions and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with medical physicists, QA/RA, marketing, and manufacturing partners to align testing with requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with no experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing experimental test methods and analyzing resulting data.
  • Strong documentation skills for drafting protocols and technical reports.
  • Comfort working in early-stage R&D environments with evolving test methods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with viscoelastic materials characterization and medical imaging modalities.
  • Familiarity with CAD (Solidworks) and exposure to medical device development or regulated environments.
