The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and commercializing next-generation technology systems in the field of electrification, particularly for automotive and energy storage applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build hardware systems for automotive and energy storage applications.
  • Develop and optimize designs using 3D CAD software and associated CAE tools.
  • Validate manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to incorporate engineering inputs into designs.
  • Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings.
  • Integrate mechanical designs with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Optimize designs for size, weight, durability, performance, manufacturability, and cost.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in motor design, thermal management, or onboard charging in automotive applications.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills and proficiency in at least one professional CAD package.
  • Understanding of GD&T and experience with component design and validation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes like injection molding and sheet metal stamping.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical fabrication and prototyping is a plus.
