Project Manufacturing Engineer

The Project Manufacturing Engineer at Standard Motor Products Inc. is responsible for developing manufacturing processes for automotive system components, collaborating with design and tooling engineers to ensure product quality and manufacturing standards.

• Establish conceptual process layout with equipment & tooling requirements.
• Provide input to the Design Engineer to reduce tooling, equipment & manufacturing cost.
• Support supervisor in developing project plan, budget, and schedule.
• Establish tooling and equipment specifications for purpose of quote & manufacture.
• Source and select vendors for tooling & equipment.
• Debug and complete acceptance trials on all tooling and equipment prior to pilot production.
• Train factory representatives & assemblers in operation of all production equipment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of related product development experience.
• Proficient in using SOLIDWORKS.
• Knowledge of common manufacturing processes (e.g., ultrasonic welding, CNC coil winding).
• Experience with Automated assembly & test systems is a plus.
• Excellent oral/written communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to Mexico for project installation and training.
