Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Merlin engine and its operation.
- Make critical decisions for the processing of Merlin engine hardware during build, test, integration, and flight.
- Define, implement, and validate engine acceptance and operational requirements.
- Support test and launch operations across all SpaceX facilities.
- Perform post-test and post-flight data reviews, providing technical recommendations.
- Solve multi-disciplinary problems, interfacing with various engineering and technician teams.
- Lead engine anomaly investigations and drive them to resolution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience working with engines or fluid systems.
- Master’s degree in mechanical or aeronautical/astronautical engineering preferred.
- Experience with analytical/scientific programming and collaborative coding.
- Proficiency in Python and knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
- Hands-on hardware experience in fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present recommendations effectively.
