Mechanical Engineer (Super Heavy Booster)

The Mechanical Engineer (Super Heavy Booster) role at SpaceX involves working with the Booster Mechanical Engineering team to create a manufacturable first stage for rockets, ensuring manufacturability and overseeing hardware production throughout its lifecycle.

• Work closely with vehicle analysts and design teams to ensure solutions meet design and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop production procedures and manage the transition from development to high-rate production.
• Coordinate and execute testing of systems, machinery, and tooling.
• Implement design changes to enhance production efficiency.
• Create CAD models and prints for components.
• Lead the on-site design engineering contact for parts and assemblies.
• Resolve manufacturing discrepancies in collaboration with the quality team.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production.
• Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Experience with 3D CAD software for design and analysis.
• Familiarity with design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA).
• Experience transitioning products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a production environment.
