Mechanical Engineer, Satellite Payload (Starlink)

The Mechanical Engineer for Starlink will be responsible for solving complex structural, thermal, and electromechanical problems related to satellite hardware. The role involves overseeing the full design lifecycle from ideation to production and working collaboratively with various engineering disciplines to support the deployment of the Starlink satellite constellation.

• Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation.
• Develop design criteria and drive system-level optimization.
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform product direction.
• Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) for efficient production.
• Establish an efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to final integration.
• Perform environmental and performance testing on hardware.
• Own product delivery timeline through conception to launch.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical/electromechanical design.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods for mechanical components.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred).
• Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex systems.
