Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and assemblies of the rocket, solving emergent challenges at suppliers.
- Own the new product introduction of new assemblies, determining manufacturing methods and identifying suppliers.
- Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability of parts.
- Work with procurement to find and vet exceptional suppliers for quality and efficiency.
- Create specifications to flow down quality and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
- Scope out new technologies and suppliers to improve rate, quality, and efficiency.
- Review issues on assigned parts, drive actions to closure, and implement changes as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products.
- Fundamental understanding of propulsion/fluid systems and component manufacturing processes.
- Experience with engineering drawings, modeling, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and statistical techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office and report writing.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel up to 40-50%.
