Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned rocket parts and assemblies, addressing manufacturing and quality challenges.
- Own new product introduction for rocket assemblies, including sourcing suppliers and developing reliable manufacturing processes.
- Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability of parts.
- Collaborate with procurement to identify and vet exceptional suppliers.
- Create specifications to communicate quality and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
- Explore new technologies to improve manufacturing rate, quality, and efficiency.
- Lead containment activities for assigned parts, working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products.
- Understanding of propulsion/fluid systems and related manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with machining and ancillary operations like milling and turning.
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and statistical techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and report writing.
- Ability to travel up to 35-50% of the work week.
