The Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Chain role at SpaceX focuses on supporting the Dragon and Falcon programs by managing supplier quality and manufacturing processes, ensuring premium quality and efficient production.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical point of contact for assigned parts, addressing manufacturing and quality challenges.
  • Review issues on assigned parts, implement changes, and drive actions to closure.
  • Create and disposition issue tickets, collaborating with engineering counterparts.
  • Become familiar with assigned parts and processes, serving as the primary contact for supply chain defects.
  • Work with procurement to identify and vet exceptional suppliers.
  • Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Own the new product introduction (NPI) process at suppliers for new parts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products.
  • Experience with machining and operations such as milling and turning.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and models.
  • Familiarity with quality processes and statistical techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, SQL, and PowerBI.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60-85% of the work week.
