The Manufacturing Engineer for Supply Chain at SpaceX will support the Dragon and Falcon programs by addressing manufacturing and quality challenges, ensuring suppliers meet premium quality standards for rocket components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical point of contact for assigned parts, solving emergent challenges at suppliers.
  • Review issues on assigned parts and implement changes to resolve them.
  • Create and disposition issue tickets and collaborate with engineering counterparts.
  • Become familiar with assigned parts and processes for overall assembly.
  • Work with procurement to identify and vet exceptional suppliers.
  • Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews for manufacturability.
  • Own the new product introduction (NPI) process at suppliers for new parts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products.
  • Experience with machining and ancillary operations (milling, turning, etc.).
  • Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality processes and statistical techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, SQL, and PowerBI.
  • Ability to travel up to 60-85% of the work week.
