Manufacturing Engineer (Machining)

The role of Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) at SpaceX involves utilizing engineering knowledge to develop solutions for manufacturing processes related to space technology. The engineer will work on hardware for satellite delivery and human transportation to the International Space Station, focusing on improving manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

• Provide engineering support for product design and process improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing discrepancies and collaborate with quality teams on corrective actions.
• Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.
• Communicate with production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering teams.
• Lead projects for alternate component technologies to reduce costs or improve quality.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in design, development, manufacturing, or testing.
• Experience with CNC machinery and CAM programming.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• CAD experience, preferably with NX & Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or equivalent systems.
• Ability to work extended hours and onsite in Hawthorne, CA.
