Responsibilities
- Manage the supply base for critical aerospace components, focusing on machined components and mechanical assemblies.
- Monitor and manage costs of parts while mitigating cost increases through supplier relationships and technical knowledge.
- Ensure manufacturing capacity and quality yield align with production demands and design changes.
- Provide guidance on design for manufacturability and supply chain optimization to internal teams.
- Conduct supplier analysis to inform sourcing decisions and manage long-term production strategies.
- Visit suppliers to assess capabilities for new product development and production.
- Develop should-cost models and educate junior team members on cost reduction strategies.
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree with 4+ years or bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Experience with CNC machined parts, forgings, and raw materials.
- Proven ability to manage large contracts and a global supply base.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and quality documents.
- Strong communication skills for summarizing and presenting risks and strategies to senior leadership.
- Detail-oriented and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to travel and work extended hours as needed.
